### Job Description
The Associate WiFi Solutions Engineer will work with the Wireless Network Planning team and Network Operations departments to assist with the quality assurance of Public WiFi for Bright House Networks. This will include working with teams to identify WiFi network standards and confirm those standards are met.
The position is responsible for providing engineering quality assurance support by visiting and surveying current WiFi installations both outdoors and indoors. Duties entail testing deployed WiFi networks by performing RF scans by car and walking. Upon field testing the engineer will take gathered information and provide reports concerning the quality of the WiFi network and suggest changes to improve the network. The engineer will work directly with teams to communicate changes and track those changes through to completion. The position works with the Network Operations teams to ensure that the network supports the various products and services offered by Bright House Networks.
The position will be responsible for providing a technical consultative relationship with design, construction and support engineers to ensure excellent Public WiFi service for Bright House Networks high speed data customers.
This position reports to the Wireless Network Planning Manager and does not have any direct reports.

Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Wireless Network Planning Team.
Drive test Public WiFi coverage areas to collect data and make network observations.
Extensive driving is required to perform testing of the Bright House Networks Florida WiFi implementations stretching from Daytona Beach to Saint Petersburg. Up to 80% of work hours will be spent traveling within this footprint.
Prepare and deliver technical data and network documentation as required in support of the various teams.
Suggest moves, adds and changes to the existing WiFi network to improve the customer experience.
Perform process analysis and develop process improvement plans.
A thorough understanding of 802.11 based Wireless network architecture.
A thorough understanding Wireless RF principles and engineering concepts.
An understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI model.
Use and evaluate test tools used in WiFi analysis.
Assist in evaluating existing and new WiFi equipment.
Test, document and present examples of end customer WiFi experience.
Report and escalate any support issues relative to results of field testing.
Test WiFi using a variety of end user WiFi devices in the field.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Applicant will be driving up to 80% of a work week.
Applicant will be required to work both inside and outside of the facility.
Flexible work hours are required.
Employee must be able to work in the maintenance window hours on a regular basis if needed.
Applicant must have the ability to lift equipment weighing 65 pounds, sit for long periods of time in front of a computer as well as the ability to type and read on a computer.
Primarily will work inside the Bright House Networks Information Services office located at Riverview, FL.
### Required Skills
Must be a self-starter. This position requires a high degree of independent decision making and autonomous function.
Experience with 802.11 Wireless site survey software including AirMagnet highly desirable.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to interpret network, site layout, and cabling diagrams.
Requires excellent analytical, problem solving, and trouble-shooting skills.
Must be able to learn and exhibit a thorough understanding of Bright House Networks services infrastructure as it relates to network topology and architecture.
Excellent organization, multi-tasking, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in highly stressful situations.
Ability to consistently produce high quality, on-time, and error-free results in an interrupt-prone environment.
Must be self-motivated, highly organized and detailed with great follow-through.
Expertise and experience with TCP/IP.
Expertise and experience in data transport networks.
Experience with telecommunication and ISP services.
Knowledge of network environments (LAN, WAN, etc.)
Knowledge of Cisco routing and switching products.
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work directly with internal and external customers.
### Required Experience
Bachelor's (B.A., B.S.) degree preferred or equivalent demonstrated experience in an engineering related field.
CCNA, CCDA, CWNA or CISSP desirable.
Prior experience with ISP, Telco or Wireless services is highly desirable.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Florida Driver's License.
